You Reel Me In

Nancy Cassidy, one of the country's most popular kids recording stars, is demonstrating a similar appeal to a broader audience with the release of her newest CD, You Reel Me In. Her voice and songs are "imbued with warmth, spice, and intimacy" in this new collection of original music that spans a variety of styles including folk, R&B, and country. Nationally known folk musician, Keith Greeninger, produced You Reel Me In and provides soulful guitar and vocals. Multi-instrumentalist, Dayan Kai, adds a jazzy saxophone, piano and organ, and Chicago-born Ronny Crawford provides distinctive rhythms with drums and percussion. Nancy's voice is frequently heard across the U.S. as she tours singing in children's museums, schools, folk festivals and libraries, and is broadcasted on PBS's Bookworm Bunch. KidsSongs: A Holler-Along Handbook received a Gold Record from the Recording Association of America Inc. KidsSongs Jubilee received both the 1990 Parents' Choice Award for Audio Recording and the American Library Association 'Notable Children's Book' award. In August 2004, Klutz released a two-CD boxed set and sing-along book combining Nancy's KidsSongs and KidsSongs 2 that received the Oppenheim Toy Portfolio Platinum Award for 2005.

In 1996, her first CD for older audiences was released. Pocketbook Romance showcases Nancy's ability to express her close bond with the natural world and draws inspiration from her youth spent on the Magneson's family farm in the San Joaquin Valley. Nancy's second CD, Night Skies, her most personal CD, focuses on love and loss. She sings poignantly of the bluster of gentle, wild, and/or crazy hearts.
