Nancy's Original Folk Music

Nancy Cassidy's songwriting began at an early
age, and she draws on her memories of growing up on a dairy farm
in the San Joaquin Valley, CA, with 6 brothers and sisters for entertainment
and the Merced River nearby for summer swimming and reflection.
Early influences included her mother's 78's of Ella Fitzgerald and
Billie Holiday and Elvis Presley on the radio.
Nancy's life experiences are evident in the lyrics
of her original songs which capture the moods of all types of weather:
spirited and feisty, reflective and romantic. Her melodic and soulful
voice is described as a blend of Tracy Chapman and Joan Baez. In the folk music vein, a fully instrumented, Ken Whiteley produced CD, Pocketbook Romance, contains songs that Nancy
wrote and sings about growing up on the farm, life on the river,
and in the city.
Her Night Skies CD reflects on the journey of a long
term relationship and the ongoing process of learning and relearning
how to love. Again, Ken Whiteley fully and beautifully produced it.
